Packers Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper Could Miss Season

— 6d
Packers coach Matt LaFleur says the team will keep veteran guard Kevin Zeitler sidelined until he is ready, warned running back Kaleb Johnson that fumbles could cost him playing time, and expressed dissatisfaction with the offense. Green Bay also fears linebacker Edgerrin Cooper could miss the rest of the season with an Achilles injury, while LaFleur is keeping the focus on players ahead of the rivalry game with Chicago rather than matching Bears coach Ben Johnson’s personal approach.

— Sep 23, 2026
With Caleb Williams hamstrung and Tyson Bagent in concussion protocol, the Chicago Bears may turn to veteran Case Keenum to start Monday night against the Eagles after he practiced as the only active quarterback; coach Ben Johnson said they’re not planning to add another QB and will decide closer to game time. Keenum, who hasn’t played in a regular-season game since 2023, has been preparing as if he could start, while Miller Moss remains on the practice squad as a potential backup option.

Johnson waiting until game time makes sense but the offense could stall without Williams.
