Lebanese, Palestinian Archivists Preserve War Memories — Sep 12, 2026Amid ongoing conflict, individuals are safeguarding memory by relocating and digitizing archives: in Lebanon, Rima Sharara saved the Bint Jbeil Public Library’s digital records, including 24 oral histories, before the library was destroyed; in the West Bank and beyond, Raja Shehadeh and collaborators moved diaries and papers to Scotland and digitized thousands of pages to protect them from destruction and ensure accessible historical records.
