Boy Killed, Sister Critically Injured in Michigan SUV Crash

Two siblings, a 12-year-old boy and his 13-year-old sister, were struck by a westbound Ford Explorer on Grand River Avenue in Leroy Township and the boy died at the scene while the sister was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries; both were wearing helmets and investigators say alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors. The driver, a 64-year-old Williamston woman, was not injured and authorities emphasize motorists must give bicyclists at least three feet of passing space as the investigation continues.
