Sentencing Set for Polygamous Leader Bateman in Arizona — Aug 25, 2026Samuel Bateman, a polygamous sect leader already serving a 50-year federal sentence for sex involving children, is set to be sentenced on separate state convictions for hauling three girls in an unventilated Flagstaff trailer; each count carries a four-to-eight-year term with the judge deciding whether to run them consecutively or concurrently. The case notes the girls, aged 11 to 14, were found with a makeshift setup in the trailer and Bateman has claimed to have more than 20 spiritual wives, linking him to the Warren Jeffs-founded group.
