Universal Peacock Netflix lock 120-day theater windowEntertainment — Aug 28, 2026A slate of upcoming Universal films—including Violent Night 2, Disclosure Day, One Night Only, and Shrek 5—will follow the same release pattern: a 120-day theatrical window, then streaming on Peacock for four months, followed by Netflix for ten months, with Peacock reclaiming rights thereafter, though exact dates vary by title (Violent Night 2 opens December 4; Disclosure Day released June 12 in the U.S.; One Night Only debuts August 7; Shrek 5 hits theaters June 30). These plans reflect Universal’s Peacock/Netflix deal and show staggered post-theatrical windows across titles as they move between platforms.
