UCLA routs Cal 45-24 as Iamaleava's leg injury raises questions
x/nicholaus-iamaleava
— Sep 6, 2026
UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava suffered a leg/calf injury late in the win at California but was described by coach Bob Chesney as not serious and expected to be available next week, with his younger brother Madden stepping in briefly. The Bruins still rolled to a 45-24 victory behind Wayne Knight's three rushing touchdowns and a strong rushing load from Anthony Woods, though Iamaleava left the game limping and his status remained a focal point after the matchup.

Good win but the calf injury is the real story here, hope Nico's fine for next week. Woods and Knight carried the load nicely with him banged up.
