McDonald’s Faces AI Pricing Class-Action Lawsuit

Reuters reported that McDonald’s uses machine-learning tools to recommend location-specific menu prices based partly on local customers’ estimated willingness to pay, with franchisees reporting pressure to follow recommendations and notable price gaps between nearby restaurants. McDonald’s says the tool does not set or dynamically change prices and that franchisees independently make final pricing decisions.
