Lincoln Memorial Pool Expected Refilled This Week

President Donald Trump says repairs to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool are nearly finished and that it is expected to be refilled this week. He said workers replaced old pipes and restored the surrounding grass after the project ran past its planned July 4 opening. Trump has continued to blame vandalism for the damage, but federal findings attributed the pool lining’s failure to flawed installation, and a property-damage case against former Olympic athlete David Hearn was dismissed. The renovation, part of preparations for the nation’s 250th anniversary, has also drawn scrutiny over its cost and problems including peeling lining and algae.
