Roadwork Projects Planned Across Five Communities
Road construction and maintenance projects are beginning across several communities, bringing closures, detours and potential delays. In New Canaan, repaving on Route 106 between Canoe Hill and Valley roads is expected to take four to six weeks, followed by a shorter section of Valley Road; officials advise drivers to use the detour. In Summerland, overnight lane closures on US 101 are accompanying drainage work expected to continue until mid-December, with delays of up to 10 minutes. Amarillo’s Hughes-Adams bridge is closing for safety upgrades, including shared-use paths, with completion expected in summer 2027. White Plains has scheduled October maintenance on several roads, while Madison County is resurfacing about 3.5 miles of Wall Triana Highway, a project officials hope to finish within a week.
