
Atari Universal Sign Multi-Picture Deal For Atari Games
Universal Pictures, Atari, and Entertainment 360 have signed a deal to develop ten classic Atari games into big-scale action-adventure films, with the first project based on a screenplay by Matt Reilly and Carl Hampe. The list of games slated for adaptation includes Asteroids, Adventure, Berzerk, Breakout, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Millipede, Missile Command, Pong, and Yars’ Revenge, signaling a new wave of legacy IP being brought to the big screen.

About Missile Command
Missile Command is a 1980 shoot 'em up video game developed and published by Atari, Inc. for arcades. It was released by Taito and Sega in Japan. The game was designed by Dave Theurer, who would also design Tempest for Atari the following year. The player uses a trackball to defend six cities from intercontinental ballistic missiles by launching anti-ballistic missiles from three bases.
