Danny Boyle's Murdoch drama joins migration themes at Venice Festival

At the Venice Film Festival, Italian cinema is highlighted with Paolo Genovesi’s Sei mai stata sulla luna? filmed in Milan and Apulia and focusing on inheritance and community, alongside Danny Boyle’s Ink, which reimagines the Murdoch-era press as a Frankenstein-like force and Paul Schrader’s introspective meditation on guilt and memory. Valeria Golino promotes Nessun dolore and Serpenti, arguing cinema can address harsh realities like domestic violence and migration while Gianni Amelio calls for unified European migration policy and a hopeful, morally probing ending in Nessun dolore.
